Air pollution can affect all age groups. Continuous exposure to air pollution leads to health issues. More and more students are interested in the air quality they breathe close to their homes, schools, and playgrounds. To reduce exposure to pollution, we must help students create a science-based understanding of air quality. The Community Science Programme on Air Quality helps build science-based knowledge amongst students about the causes and sources of air pollution and the possible impact of pollution on health. The project brings new thinking and a fresh approach where students as Citizen Scientists learn how to observe and monitor air quality data, understand and interpret air quality information and facilitate data visualization and analysis with the help of experts and scientists. Through training programmes, students learn how to take small positive steps to improve air quality and reduce their exposure to pollution.
